Laser hair removal certification in Edmonton, taught hands-on
Train on Class 4 laser and IPL in a small batch of four students. Learn with Hetisha Shukla and the Oxyderm team, and practise on real patients so you are ready to work.

The only academy in Edmonton that teaches Class 4 laser
Most other academies certify on IPL only. That is not enough knowledge to treat every skin type. Here you learn the full range, so you can work with confidence.
Class 4 laser and IPL
Train on the technologies clinics actually use: Nd:YAG, Alexandrite, blended technology and intense pulsed light.
Four students per batch
Small groups on purpose. Every student gets real time on the equipment and with the instructor.
Practice on real patients
Hands-on practice is what builds confidence. You learn the procedure and perform it, not just watch it.
A typical IPL-only program
- One technology
- Limited preparation for deeper skin tones
- Large classes
Oxyderm Academy
- Nd:YAG, Alexandrite, blended technology and IPL
- Training for skin types I to VI
- Four students per batch
Where you will learn
A look inside Oxyderm Laser Clinic, the treatment rooms and team behind the academy.
Four technologies. One complete skill set.
Select a technology to see what it is and where it fits.
Nd:YAG laser
A longer wavelength laser. It is the technology associated with treating deeper skin tones, which makes it essential for any practitioner who wants to serve every client.
Alexandrite laser
A shorter wavelength laser widely used for hair removal. Learn how it works alongside Nd:YAG so you can choose the right tool for each client.
Blended technology
Systems that combine wavelengths in one treatment. You learn when blending is the right choice and how to set it up safely.
IPL: intense pulsed light
A broad-spectrum light source. Most academies stop here. At Oxyderm it is one part of a wider education, not the whole of it.
Learn to treat every client who walks in
Our training covers the full Fitzpatrick scale. Tap a type to see why it matters.
Everything you need on your first day at work
Laser physics and technology
How lasers and light work on the skin, and how Nd:YAG, Alexandrite, blended technology and IPL differ.
Skin anatomy
The structure of the skin and hair, so every treatment decision has a reason behind it.
Treatment protocols
Step-by-step procedures you then perform hands-on, on real patients.
Safety and contraindications
Who can be treated, who cannot, and how to keep every client safe.
Pre- and post-treatment care
Preparing the skin and guiding clients afterwards.
Why we built this academy

What every student gets
Three things we build the course around, for every batch.
Class 4 laser to train on
You learn on Class 4 laser technology, alongside IPL, not on IPL alone.
Real patient practice
You practise on real patients, so you build the confidence to work with them.
A small batch of four
Four students per batch, so you get real time on the equipment and with your instructor.
